Weekend Program
Friday, July 2
The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Balloon Festival kicks off at 6 p.m. at Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie.
6 p.m.: Balloons will launch from various sites throughout Dutchess County including Waryas Park, Sprout Creek Farm, Rhinebeck Fairgrounds, Migliorelli Farm, Lutheran Care at Concord Village, Shadows Marina, and Town Field in Highland.
The Evergreen Chorus of the Sweet Adeline’s will perform at the band shell at Waryas Park from 6-7 p.m. followed by the Jazz Pioneers from 7-9 p.m.
The Town of Lloyd (Highland) Events Committee will be hosting an old-fashioned block party following the balloon launch at 7pm. The block party takes place in the hamlet of Highland and will include a movie on the big screen at 8:30pm.
101.5 WPDH will be doing live radio shows at Shadows Marina for the 6pm Shadows Balloon Launch.
The Rhinebeck Fairgrounds will hold its two professional rodeos at 5 and 8 p.m. with fireworks at dusk. Admission to the fairgrounds is free and admission for the rodeos is $10 at the gate and $8 in advance.

Saturday, July 3rd
6 a.m. Hudson River Rowing Association Community Boathouse: Sunrise launch for all balloons.
6 p.m.: Balloons lift off from sites including Waryas Park, Sprout Creek Farm, Lakeside Park in Pawling, Migliorelli Farm in Tivoli, Shadows Marina, and Town Field in Highland.
The Town of Lloyd (Highland) Events Committee will hold an Independence Celebration at the Town Field in Highland, complete with a fireworks display at 8:30pm.
101.5 WPDH will be doing live radio shows at Shadows Marina for the 6pm Shadows Balloon Launch.
The Dutchess County Fairgrounds will hold two huge demolition derbies at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Admission to the fairgrounds is free and admission for the derbies is $10 at the gate and $8 in advance.
Gates open at 2 p.m.

Sunday, July 4th
6 a.m. Hudson River Rowing Association Boathouse: Mass balloon launch.
The Hudson Valley Philharmonic will play at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds at 8 p.m. Admission is $12 at the gate and $8 in advance. Children under 12 free and carload is $45 at the gate and $35 in advance. Gates open at 4 p. m.
The City of Poughkeepsie will have a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. at Waryas Park in the City of Poughkeepsie and Dutchess County Tourism has arranged for a plane from the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome to fly over the bridges.
